Hove Park School

Frankham were appointed by Brighton and Hove City Council on the new extension to the existing Hove Park School Valley Campus.

Led by the Brighton and Hove City Council property and design team, Frankham supported the project by providing Building Services Consultancy along with Structural Engineering Design.

The extension will include a new Cullum Centre to help students on the autism spectrum get the support they need to thrive in a mainstream school setting.

The Centre will provide specialist support from trained staff, such as learning in small groups and therapies within a calm setting to retreat to, while having the opportunity to regularly engage in typical mainstream school activities as appropriate for each student.

The Cullum Centre will provide a modern teaching area with an improved use of natural light and hybrid ventilation systems. The controlled ventilation system will comply with the latest regulations, including BB101, and under the New Construction 2018 scheme the project is set to achieve a BREEAM rating of “Very Good”.

As well as the new extension, the project included the redesign of the school main reception area with the aim to provide more natural light and an extended canteen area.
